In this world, our definition of freedom has been altered completely through political, personal, and moral terms. But no matter what, freedom comes down to one thing: the ability to express who you are. Identity is the one thing someone has no matter what. Through disaster and famine, your identity and who you choose to stick with you.

Every country is in different regions of the world, which creates a different way of living for everyone, which gives every country a different idea of rights like how women in America are freer than women in Afghanistan. So it feels absurd to rely on constitutions, laws, or pieces of paper to determine freedom. Freedom has to be something everything can experience, because freedom does not have to be worked for; freedom is what you are given because you are human.

During historical events, people have been able to stay true to who they are, whether it is immoral or not. We see examples of that with global movements, such as protests and boycotts. Usually, it is someone fighting for a right that aligns with their identity. An example of this is LGBTQ+ movements, your sexuality is a part of your identity, and that is undeniable. So when people get out there, they are refusing to change their identity for society. No matter what, humans stand for what they are.

Freedom is intimate. It is a sacred piece of you because it seems so unobtainable in recent times, even though it is with you all along. To know who you truly are and have an identity is true freedom; freedom doesn't have to be having everything you want, or being a dove in the sky, flying to the horizon with no worries of your home being taken from you. Freedom is something that is unnegotiable; it is something that cannot be taken, or given to you by someone else.

The definition of freedom from Cambridge Dictionary is “The condition or right of being able or allowed to do, say, think, etc, whatever you want to, without being controlled or limited.” Well, that is unachievable, there will always be conflict, war, control, and limits. There is always opposition.

So it’s silly to give a definition like that to freedom, because freedom has no limits, and you have no limits, you are free, because you are you.
