Divine Derision
The infant hears screeches in the safest arms—
Abuse and sin
From a man.
It cries, summons the God.
But God stays distant,
Silent,
Watching from afar.
Everyone runs outdoors,
Standing in the yard,
While I question the deity:
If You are real, so divine and majestic,
Why do You not see the iniquity?
A scene so lousy—
Creeping over my walls.
Yet what stillness Your tranquility holds—
That a man torments his wife,
While the neonate weeps.
Disdain fills the air.
Dear Lord—
Merciless,
Is Your silence
The utterless derision?
