Ink Knows Best

You know how it feels
To pour your feelings and fears
Until the page grows heavier
Than the hands that hold it
I tear away the final pages
As if my feelings would fall
Like scraps into the wind
They say words heal,
But ink knows deeper wounds
It stains where voices fail
It remembers,
What the mouth refuses to confess
I have spent too long
Bleeding into my notebooks
I've buried too many versions of myself into them
All because ink knows best
